Dinar (Gold, 21 mm, 7.92 g, 12 h), uncertain mint in Baktria, probably Balkh. þAONANOþA KANηþKO KOþANO ('King of Kings, Kanishka the Kushan' in Baktrian) Kanishka I standing front, head to left, sacrificing with his right hand over altar and holding trident in his left. Rev. MAO (in Bactrian) The moon deity Mao standing front, head to left, raising his right hand in salute and holding transverse scepter surmounted by inverted crescent; to left, tamgha. ANS Kushan 379. Donum Burns 128. Struck from a somewhat corroded obverse die and with some scratches on the reverse, otherwise, nearly extremely fine.
